We had lots of fun walking to school together on Walk/Bike/Roll to School Day on Wednesday! A special thank you to our parent volunteers, the Montague Police and Fire Departments, the town of Montague, the Montague Elks Club, and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Please keep sending your Teacher Appreciation Week hearts to school next week! Friends of Hillcrest will post these on a bulletin board for all of our staff members to enjoy.

Thank you for joining us for our April All School Meeting today! Our preschoolers shared a rhyme from the Heggerty program, “Peas in a Pod.” Our kindergarten students presented their learning about teen numbers with an interactive chant and our first graders presented acrostic name poems they had written in honor of National Poetry Month. Well done!

We had so much fun seeing our first graders perform their Story Dance of Where the Wild Things Are on Thursday morning! This enrichment program, led by local dance instructor, Anna Hendricks, was funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

As noted in last week’s Friday News, all Hillcrest students will be given NASA approved eclipse glasses when they leave school on Monday, April 8th. Our teachers will also be teaching some basic eclipse safety practices to all students.

We had a great time welcoming next year’s kindergarten students at our Kindergarten Open House. A special thank you goes out to the many community members who joined us – Friends of Hillcrest, MCSM, The Community Health Center of Franklin County, and the Carnegie Public Library.
Monday, April 8th is the date of the upcoming Solar Eclipse. In our area, the eclipse will begin around 2:30 and continue until approximately 3:35. This will impact our student dismissal. ...
