TRANSPORTATION REGISTRATION

Gill-Montague Regional School District is working closely with our school bus provider, F. M. Kuzmeskus, Inc., to ensure a successful transition into school-year 2020-21. Operating within the guidelines provided by our state and federal agencies, we've established safety protocols that begin on the school bus and extend throughout the day. While we do not have a return date at this time, we are planning ahead for when we can return to school in hybrid. We understand that some families will elect to use household transportation, but we also understand that this may not be feasible for everyone. Registering your student will allow us to formulate responsible school bus routes, correlate our bell times with staffing requirements, remain reactive should we need to enact contact-tracing procedures, and ensure each eligible student that needs a ride to school is afforded a seat.
The deadline for completing registration is:
Friday, October 2, 2020.

SCHOOL REOPENING PLAN KEY ELEMENTS PRESENTATION
In the meeting, we summarized the key elements of our District and School Plans. Please be aware that this is an active draft and that the content of the document will evolve. We will send out communication that highlight specific changes, when they are not minor and might impact family planning or staff assignments.

FAMILY TECHNOLOGY RESOURCE PAGE

Please visit our technology resource page to learn more about your students' remote learning environment. In it you will find tips, guides, and videos on how to use the Chromebook, Google Apps for Educaiton, PlusPortals, SeeSaw, and more.

FAMILY NEED SURVEY

Each school is requesting that each family respond to the survey by September 1st for each child in your home, who attends each school. This information is important for each school to be able to organize student classes and understand which children need materials. There are 3 ways that families can respond to this brief survey:

  • Fill out the brief survey on-line (the survey link is below and posted on the district website)
  • Complete the survey on the back of the letter mailed home and return to the school by MAIL. (Please do not bring them to buildings)
  • Call into your child’s school to make them aware of your child’s plans and needs.

Thank you for helping us help our children!

STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES: The district's administrative leaders have been closely following state and federal guidance on how to best support our students with disabilities and our English Learners (ELs) during this period of emergency school closure. Our special education teachers and related service providers (occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech and language pathologists, school counselors, school psychologists, and board certified behavior analyst) working in collaboration with general education teachers are preparing to use a combination of virtual, technology based (tele-practice, GSuite tools, specialized online curriculum programs, etc.) as well as print resources and adapted lessons to support the remote learning needs of our students identified within IEP plans. Additionally, our classroom and content area teachers, in collaboration with our ELL teachers are working to support the remote learning needs of our EL students and their families. Of further note, Jimena DePareja, our Spanish Language Interpreter & Community Liaison (413) 695-9593 continues to be a resource for our school community.
