Dear Hillcrest Families,

It was great to see so many Hillcrest families at GMRSD Family Math Night! This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their learning with their families – thanks for joining us!

A few important news items:

  • We’re looking forward to the HIllcrest Spring Festival, hosted by Friends of Hillcrest, on Sunday, May 7th.  If you’re able to lend a hand as a volunteer at this event, please send an email to friendsofhillcrest2015@gmail.com. 

  • Mark your calendars for Walk/Roll/Bike to School Day on May 25th! This special day is focused on encouraging students and their families to walk to school, roll to school via scooter or skates, or ride their bikes to school.  This event is being planned by Stacey Langknecht, GMRSD Family Engagement Coordinator, with support from Safe Routes to School and the Town of Montague.  More details to follow. 

  • A message from our Director of Food Services, Molly Brooks:

    • At Hillcrest Elementary School, as in all of Gill-Montague Regional School District, we in the nutrition department offer FREE breakfast and lunch to ALL students. We encourage all students to have a substantial breakfast before the school day starts so that their brains are ready and able to engage in productive learning.  Please know that if a day comes when you or your student is running late and can’t get breakfast at home, it is always available at school, at no cost to families.

    • Recently we have been adding new and different items to our lunch line.  If your student hasn’t tried lunch lately this would be a great time to come in and check it out.  We are also hoping to add more new items to the breakfast and lunch offerings to give our students a variety to choose from.  We welcome constructive feedback, and if you would like to reach out to me I can be reached at molly.brooks@gmrsd.org.

  • Be sure to check out the flyers attached to your weeky email for some fun upcoming events at the Montague Public Libraries this afternoon (Arbor Day)  and tomorrow (Book Event at 11:00)! You can also find details at the Montague Public Libraries Event Calendar
