Great Falls Middle School

Welcome to GFMS!

Warm greetings to all TFHS/GFMS students and families! We hope that this letter finds you all happy, healthy, and safe.

On behalf of our staff, faculty, and administrative team, I am very excited to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year! Together we will make this year a successful one, even though it might not be a “typical” school year!

As you all have heard, the Gill-Montague Regional School District will begin remotely on Monday, September 14, 2020. This year will look very different than last spring for us. Each middle and high school student will follow a regular schedule, just like they would do if they were here in the building (Monday-Friday from 7:45-2:25 p.m.). Attendance will be taken and students will once again be receiving percentage grades. Schedules for all students are being worked on and will be provided prior to the first day. More important than ever, please make sure that the main office has your current email address.

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has determined that all curriculum standards are to be taught. To assist in a successful ever-changing learning environment, our school will be embedding social-emotional learning and support throughout the day.

Even though we will be beginning this year not physically together, we will be continuing to work on whole school culture and climate throughout the year enabling student voice and choice. I will make sure to communicate what we are doing through the bi-weekly Community Newsletter which will begin on Friday, September 11, 2020 . This newsletter will be linked on both school websites, on Facebook, and a link will be emailed out. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.

Warmly,

Principal Menard
