Preschool

preschool children

Welcome to the Gill-Montague Regional School District Preschool program. Our goal in the preschool program is to provide our youngest students with the tools and learning experiences they need in order to thrive in kindergarten and beyond. We serve children from age three to five years old in a fully inclusive setting.  Preschool enrollment is open to students who are residents of Gill or Montague. Students must be three years old prior to September 1st to be eligible for the Half Day Program and four years old prior to September 1st to be eligible for the Full Day Program.

Our Program

We strive to provide our youngest students with a variety of learning experience designed to engage and prepare them for future success. In addition to their participation in a rich, developmentally appropriate curriculum in each preschool classroom, our preschoolers also attend a daily session of art, physical education, music, library, or technology instruction.

Each preschool classroom is led by a preschool teacher licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. In addition, each preschool classroom is supported by an early childhood paraprofessional. Our preschool program provides comprehensive special education services to students with special needs, and our staffing includes a speech language pathologist, an occupational therapist, and a physical therapist.

Breakfast & Lunch

Our preschool students are welcome to participate in Hillcrest’s breakfast program. All Hillcrest students may eat breakfast at school, free of charge. Preschoolers must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver at breakfast. Our preschoolers eat lunch at school each day from 11:00 a.m.  to 11:30 a.m. Preschoolers can eat school lunch or bring a lunch from home. Hillcrest provides free lunch to all students, regardless of family income.
