Afterschool Program
Sheffield Elementary School's 21st Century CLC Program served 77 children last school year and 38 children during the summer program. Christine Bates is the director; to reach her, call or text 413-824-1223.
The goal of the program is to offer high quality enrichment at little to no cost to families.
- Five days per week, 3:15-5:30
- Healthy snacks
- Non-structured free time
- The past three years have included English Language Arts (ELA) and Science Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math- (S.T.E.A.M.) centered enrichment via student driven interests:

- Sport of the season (Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Ultimate) learning and practicing good sportsmanship, the strategies, the name of the plays, the length/increments of the fields, the referee calls and more
- Health Eating and Active Time Club (physical activity fun and nutrition education!)
- Build Our Kids Success (BOKS)- a Massachusetts-based core fitness program
- Project-Based Science activities from Boston Science Museum (Bubble Science, Matchbox Physics)
- Crafting, Language, and Culture- ie Spanish Language, Cooking in Spanish, Yoga and Well-Being, Mindfulness
- Mixed Media Art- Creative Minds- a Bilingual Art Exploration, Crochet Monsters
- Debate Club, Leaders Club, Makerspace
- Team GROW and Green Team- both use a Service Learning Model that includes themes of sustainability, resource consciousness, and exploration of local food from seed to table using our school gardens
- Academic support through technology and district integrated learning platforms (iReady, Lexia, Code.org)
- Our program is entering its second full year collaborating with Musica Franklin

- Late bussing for ALL Montague students
- This Fall's options will include Musica Franklin, Soccer Skillz and Drillz, H.E.A.T. Club, and More!
