Dear Gill Community,
The Superintendent is continuing to explore the possibility of students returning in a Hybrid Model towards the end of the month, once we have the completed repairs and adjustments to our HVAC system to ensure appropriate air quality flow. Superintendent Beck will be reaching out to families soon with more information and timelines once he has updated information on the status of repairs. Fortunately, the work required at Gill was not considerable, and should be completed in a timely manner. Work has begun this week and I’m hopeful it will be done soon.
Thank you to those of you that completed the survey requesting information regarding preferences for Remote versus Hybrid. Ms. Hutchinson and I will be calling families/caregivers we have not heard from yet so cohorts can be created. I am working with the secondary level as well so that we can organize cohorts according to siblings attending on the same days. The tentative plan looks like this: Cohort A would be in person on Mondays and Tuesdays, remote the rest of the week; Cohort B would be remote Mondays- Wednesdays and in person on Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesdays would continue to be remote half days for students, so faculty can plan and hold meetings in the afternoons.
Please keep in mind that the Massachusetts Department of Public Health is requiring the flu vaccine for all public school students this year. Have a wonderful weekend!
