Our Community
Nestled along the Connecticut River in northern Massachusetts, our district community is comprised of Gill, the five villages that comprise the town Montague, and the town of Erving. The towns of Gill and Montague are diverse and rich in history and culture dating back more than 10,000 years to early Native American habitation, to the Colonial period, and through the Industrial Revolution. The landscape is a rare combination of rolling and historic hills, fertile farmlands, and residential villages. Perfectly situated, Gill and Montague residents enjoy New England’s finest skiing, canoeing, hiking, and biking opportunities.
We invite you to visit us and get to know our community better. Be sure to follow the links to some of the community resources and fun local attractions to catch a glimpse of the many things that our community has to offer.
