Dear Gill Families, Caregivers, and Staff,

It’s been an interesting weather week, and I hope all of you are enjoying the spring vacation week. I am pleased to announce that Brittany Cooley will be returning to her role as special education teacher at Gill Elementary this coming Monday, April 26th. Son Hui May has been filling in for Brittany during her leave and will be on site to assist in the transition back. We've very much appreciated the support of Son Hui during this absence!

I would like to express my appreciation to all of the families and caregivers who have been so patient and understanding with the long lines at drop off and dismissal. Morning drop off is going well, and we are working to expedite the afternoon pick-up lines. We’ve distributed student name cards for those that are picked up on a regular basis, so that we can quickly identify who has arrived to pick up their student. Please try to display the name of the student(s) upon arrival to help us in the process.

I’ve tentatively rescheduled the “Spruce up Gill School Day” to Sunday, May 5th to clean up after the long winter, weather dependent. We need help in beautifying our school grounds. There is mulch to spread, some leaves around the building to rake, and plants to plant. The Nature Trails have some branches down over the paths so we need some help moving/cutting those for students to access the trails. Donations of plants or flowers would be appreciated as well! Gill PTO will provide fresh water, coffee and donuts. If you are able and interested, please contact me to let me know. I’ve received little response, so any help or support would be much appreciated!

Enjoy the warm weather day tomorrow!

Sincerely yours,

Lisa Desjarlais, Principal
