StuCo @ MASC Spring Conference

11 high school students and 2 adults dressed up for an award ceremony Turners Falls High School Student Council sent a delegation of 11 students and their advisors, Beth Fortin and Megan Bendiksen, to the Massachusetts Association of Student Councils state conference for student leadership this year. The MASC Spring Conference is held annually to provide students with both motivational and educational experiences. The three-day two-night conference is held at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis. The three days are full of events, motivational speeches, leadership workshops, and awards. The TFHS Student Council Delegates were trained in areas of leadership, had opportunities to network with students across Massachusetts, and were celebrated as student leaders for their achievements throughout the year.

The annual kickoff to the conference is the Special Olympics MASC Polar Plunge at Craigville Beach. This year MASC earned almost $45,000 to benefit the Special Olympics by taking pledges to jump into the frigid waters of the Atlantic. Kids from all over the Commonwealth were decked out in their favorite costumes to support and celebrate this important cause.
