Covid 19 Vaccine Clinic for Ages 12 and Up

Dear GMRSD Families,

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with the Community Health Center of Franklin County(CHCFC) to offer a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for students ages 12 and older at the Turners Falls High School on Wednesday May 26th from 9am-1pm.  Participants will be given their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at that time and will be invited back for the second dose on Thursday, June 17th.

GMRSD students who are learning in-person at TFHS/GFMS, will be able to receive their vaccine during school hours, and Gill Elementary and Erving Elementary 6th grade students, remote learners, and others should come to the TFHS Main Entrance between 9am-1pm.  There are two important steps to register:

Go to https://www.chcfc.org/vaccine-registration to register.  Write (GMRSD) after your child’s name so that the CHCFC staff know which clinic your child will attend.  Make sure to enter the email address of the parent/guardian (not the child’s email).

After you register, the CHCFC will email you a permission slip to sign electronically through Docu-Sign.  This is very important. The CHCFC will not be able to administer the vaccine to anyone under 18 without a signed permission slip.  Paper copies will be available from the school nurse as well.

During registration, you will be asked for your insurance information.  Please enter it.  CHCFC does charge a fee to the insurance company, but there will be NO CHARGE to YOU.  No one will be turned away for lack of insurance and there will not be a charge or co-pay for anyone.

If you choose to register your child, and they are learning in-person at the TFHS/GFMS, please notify Melissa Bednarski, District Nurse Leader (Melissa.bednarski@gmrsd.org) so that she can arrange for your child to get called down to get vaccinated that day.

The Pfizer vaccine has been approved by the CDC and is safe for children ages 12 and up.  We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to receive the vaccine.

Sincerely,

 Brian Beck,  Superintendent
