Dear Hillcrest Families,

We are so excited for the second annual Montague Warrior Dash on Saturday! In addition to a super fun adventure obstacle course, children and families can also enjoy a free Touch A Truck event featuring vehicles from the following businesses and organizations: Montague Police Department, Montague Center Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police ,Senn II Excavating, Rau's Towing and F. M. Kuzmeskus. The race is open to children ages 5 to 12, with the starting time for the younger children (ages 5 - 8)  at 2:00 and for the older children (ages 9 - 12) at 3:00. Parking for this event will be in the Hillcrest parent parking lot on Griswold Street and in the Sheffield parking lot on Crocker Avenue. We hope to see lots of Hillcrest families and community members on Saturday!

Additional notes for the week:

  • There’s still time to register for the Warrior Dash! You can stop by the Montague Recreation Department office on Friday or you can arrive at 1:30 on Saturday to register at the event.  Proceeds from this event will benefit Montague Recreation and the Hillcrest Playground Fund.

  • Special thanks to our P.E. teacher, Mr. Wood, and  all of the Hillcrest parent volunteers who helped to make our Field Day such a success!  Our students had a blast racing, playing and splashing all morning long. And, they were delighted by the freeze pops provided by Friends of Hillcrest!

  • Another big thank you to Friends of Hillcrest for sponsoring the Circus Minimus event on Friday, May 31st and the Mad Science presentation on Wednesday, June 5th.

  • Our preschoolers will celebrate the end of the school year with a special celebration on Thursday, June 13th at 9:30. All preschool families and friends are invited to attend.

  • Don’t forget that our last three days of school -- June 12th, 13th and 14th -- are Early Release Days.  Our preschoolers will be dismissed at 11:30 and our kindergarten and first grade students will be dismissed at 12:00.  Lunch will be served.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend --

Sarah Burstein
