Hillcrest Updates

  • Thank you for joining us for our April All School Meeting today!  Our preschoolers shared a rhyme from the Heggerty program, “Peas in a Pod.”  Our kindergarten students presented their learning about teen numbers with an interactive chant and our first graders presented acrostic name poems they had written in honor of National Poetry Month.  Well done!

  • We hope to see lots of Hillcrest students walking to school on Wednesday, May 1st!  If you’d like to walk with a group of classmates, please meet up at 8:00 at either the Montague Public Safety Complex at 180 Turnpike Road or at the Elks Lodge at 1 Elks Ave (off of 7th Street). 

  • Friday, May 3rd is the deadline to sign up for bus transportation to Elementary Science Night at Gill Elementary School.  Parents or caregivers must ride the bus with their students.  Please sign up here. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

  • Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up (May 6 -10) and two of our local radio stations want to celebrate our teachers!  You can nominate your favorite teacher by going oto WHAI.com or Bear953.com.  Check out the details here.

Friends of Hillcrest

  • Flowers from the Friends of Hillcrest flower sale will be ready for pick-up at Hillcrest on Friday, May 10th.  Specific details regarding pick-up times will be sent home next week. 

  • The next Friends of Hillcrest meeting will be held on Thursday, May 2nd from 5:30 - 6:30.  All are welcome!

  • Please mark your calendars for the FoH Spring Festival, scheduled for Sunday, May 19th from 11:00 - 2:00. 

Community News

  • On Saturday, April 27th at 3:00, Great Falls Discovery Center is hosting Wildlife Tales.  You will  learn tales of “animals and magic from around the world” and you can meet a live animal, too! 

  • On Saturday evening at 7:00, the Gill-Montague Education Fund is hosting its annual gala with a concert called Piano Men at Turners Falls High School.  Check out www.thegmef.org for details on tickets.
