Dear Hillcrest Families,

 

As you know, we practice many health and  safety routines here at school.  Your Hillcrest student is familiar with many of these – hearing and vision screening, regular hand-washing, following the rules for walking in the hallways, and participating in safety drills (fire and lockdown).  We will be conducting one of our  safety drills at Hillcrest on Monday, April 11th. When you arrive at school, you may see police vehicles in our parking lots.  Local and state police officers will be here to support us with the safety drill. We will follow our usual arrival routines with rolling drop-off from 8:25 - 8:35.  

A few important news items:

  • Special thanks go out to the Hillcrest family members who came to lend a hand at Kindergarten Information Night on Wednesday.  We really appreciate your participation!

  • On a related note, Kindergarten Registration continues through April 15th, so if you know any soon-to-be five year-olds who live in our school district, please remind their parents or caregivers that it’s time to register for Kindergarten. For more information, please call the school office at 863-9526.

  • When we return from School Vacation Week, the Hillcrest Diverse Books Family Lending Library will be up and running. This Lending Library features a small collection of books from our larger Diverse books collection and is open to all Hillcrest families.  We’ll have the Lending Library set up at dismissal on selected dates so that families can easily access the collection.  More information to come. 

  • Friends of Hillcrest News:

    • The Spring Festival will take place on Saturday, April 30th. Please check your child’s backpack for the flier that was sent home earlier this week. 

    • April Friends of Hillcrest Meeting - Wednesday, April 27th at 5:00
