Dear Hillcrest Families,
We’ve had a busy week here at Hillcrest as we’ve been launching into our Middle of the Year academic assessments in kindergarten and first grade. Our classroom teachers, math intervention teacher, and reading teachers will be meeting individually with each kindergarten and first grade student over the next few weeks to measure their progress in literacy and mathematics. In early February, we’ll meet to review these assessments in order to set new learning goals...

Dear Hillcrest Families,
Happy New Year to all of you! Our first week back from school vacation has been very productive. Our students are getting settled back into their routines and we’re back on track for lots of learning and fun in 2023!
A few important news items:
Our first graders have begun their Artist in Residence project with Anna Hendricks. They are really enjoying their daily dance experiences. Please be sure to ask your first grader all about it!

Please see the statement below relating to seniors only.
Seniors may be exempt from final exams (not from final papers/projects, and not from AP courses) if their average in the class is 93 or above on the date of the second to the last class before the exam. Teachers must have graded all work that is due and submitted, and they must entered the scores into the portal by this date. In addition, seniors need to have no more than one unexcused absence from school, no more than 5 combined excused/unexcused...

All School Field Trip to see Willy Wonka Jr.
Thanks to the Friends of Sheffield, all SES students received a "golden ticket" to see a live musical performance starring some of our Sheffield Students! We are so excited to announced that FOS is taking our school on a field trip to see the musical "Willy Wonka Jr." at Ja'Duke Center for the Performing Arts on January 26, 2023.
Please make sure to sign and return the field trip permission form no later than Friday, January 20, 2023.
