Meeting notes for January 10, 2019

1) Challenges of increasing parent/ guardian involvement and participation in the SEPAC

2) Recruitment ideas

In addition to flyer to special ed. families and website posting send out a connect ed. phone call to all families.
Possibly create business cards that refer families to the SEPAC page on the website and to the pupil services office if they are interested in knowing more about the SEPAC
Add a text box under additional information about the SEPAC on all student IEPs (for new IEPs and at the annual review/re-evaluation for present students)
Plan a family friendly event to promote participation in SEPAC. Group proposed family bowling at French King Bowling and Entertainment Center during February vacation week. Tentative date- Feb. 21- 3:00-5:00-bowling and pizza- maybe pursue funding through GMEF?

3) Parents Rights presentation- see handout linked above

4) Community resources- provide handout at all IEP meetings that includes contact info about SEPAC along with other resources in the area.

5) Next meeting date- Feb. 7, 4:00-5:00 pm at TFHS conference room
