Technology Needs and Communication

March 27, 2020

Dear District Families,

Here is a two-part message we sent out via a phone call last evening:  First, as the district moves towards using more remote learning methods in the weeks ahead, we want to assist any families who may not have internet access or a computer or iPad at home available to students.  If your household does not have either of these please call your student’s school main office and speak to the administrative assistant or leave a voicemail message providing your student’s name and whether you need assistance with internet access or obtaining a computer, or both.  Please call the school office by Monday evening.  If you have already provided this information to your student’s teacher it is not necessary to make this additional call.

Second, by now our teachers have emailed or called all parents or guardians.  If you have not replied to these outreach efforts, we ask that you please take a moment to do so soon.  We will need every family’s help in partnering to support student learning in the days ahead, so please be in touch with our faculty so we can maintain strong home-school communication.  If you wish to initiate contact with a teacher, counselor, or other staff member, everyone’s email address may be found at the school page of our district website, gmrsd.org.

Thank you, and we will be sending out detailed plans for student learning early next week.

Sincerely,

Michael Sullivan, Ed.D.

Superintendent of Schools
