10/12/18 Happy Friday from Gill Elementary!   We have had a very eventful week this week! Thank you to everyone who came out last night for our open house. It was wonderful to see all our kids’ work and even to see some former students come back.   Our scarecrows are back! Students in every class today took time to build a small army of scarecrows who will stand in formation on our traffic circle starting today. Don’t be afraid as you drive up, they won’t hurt!   We also had the Gill Fire Department here this week to teach our kids about fire safety...
  Dear Hillcrest Families, It was wonderful to see so many Hillcrest students and families here at Hillcrest for Open House on Wednesday night!  Our students were so proud to to show off their classrooms, share their achievements and introduce their families to their new friends. Thank you very much for joining us! Dear Sheffield families,  There is a School Council meeting on Monday, October 15th from 3:30-4:30 in my​ office. There is a Friends of Sheffield (FOS) meeting at the Rendezvous from 6:00-7:30 on Wednesday, October 17th. Sheffield’s 3rd Annual Pumpkin Carving Party will take place in our cafeteria on Friday, October 19 starting at 6:00 pm. At the next meeting of the school committee, Superintendent Sullivan will request that the district's calendar be amended to return the high school graduation date and time back to the norm, in this case Friday, June 7 at 6:30 pm.  A change had been made back in July, upon the superintendent's request, to accommodate the needs of Principal Leonard.  We have sought feedback about this a couple of times now and it is clear that the majority of students and families prefer to retain the traditional date and time, which we will do.  We may need to make adjustments in the future...
On Friday, October 5, TFHS Physics Students visited Decker Machine Works to learn about applied physics, engineering, manufacturing, and potential careers in industry.  Thanks to our Physics/Technology Education teacher Brian Lamore for organizing and Thanks to the Franklin Hampshire Regional Employment Board for supporting this learning expedition. 
On August 28, the school committee adopted two new policies: Anti-Bullying Policy (Policy JICFB) and Civil Rights Grievance Policy (Policy ACAB). These may be viewed on this website by following the links above or by referring to the district policy manual.
