Dear Hillcrest Families,
Happy February to all of you! It really seems like the first month of 2019 flew right by! Despite the disruptions of our Two Hour Delay days and holidays this past month, our teachers and students have taken advantage of all of our school days to explore new ideas and build new skills. On Saturday, January 19th three GFMS 8th grade students attended Project 351’s annual Launch Day in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. 351 students representing every town and city in Massachusetts traveled to Boston and gathered in historic Faneuil Hall to launch a year-long service project. Our GFMS students made new friendships, listened to inspirational calls to action from service leaders including Governor Charlie Baker, First Lady Lauren Baker and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and then went out to spend their first day in service!
