Hillcrest Elementary School Friday News December 14, 2018 Dear Hillcrest Families, As much as I love winter here in New England, I have to admit that I’ve been delighted by two full weeks without any snow! A heartfelt thank you to all the families who have donated to our food drive! The final day for collecting donations will be tomorrow. To date we have donated 456 items to the Montague Catholic Social Ministries food pantry. The final delivery will take place tomorrow afternoon and Ifm confident we will be well over 500 items! Next week is a full week of school. There are no half days. We will be closed from December 24-January 1. At our November 30th All School Meeting, the theme was "Gratitude." We did the "2, 4, 6, 8 -- Who do we appreciate?" greeting and enjoyed hearing from preschoolers in Ms. Welles' class, who each shared one of the many things they are thankful for.  Kindergarten students in Ms. Hirst's class have been practicing finding words they know inside poems and reading poems together in one voice, and they recited this poem by Jack Prelutsky for us:  "I'm Thankful" I’m thankful for the turkey, I’m thankful for the pie, I’m thankful for the...
